Where did the time go??

It’s been a year since I’ve attempted the blog thing. Writing isn’t always my strongest ability. It’s also not my worst. We spent last summer getting our bearings with the farm in all aspects. From starting farmers markets to planting and harvesting many acres of corn- we definitely had our hands full.

As we come fully into season 2 of our little farm, I look back at all of the things we have accomplished over the last year. We are grateful for each and every customer who stumbled across us at the markets we were at.

After completing last season, we learned a lot about what our customers are looking for and we hope that we have honed in a little more this season. We also have some very exciting things to bring forward this summer!

We will continue to have bouquets made by Abby, although perhaps less than last year. They had many great comments, but not a sustainable number of sales. To our surprise, the fastest item to sell out was pickled beets! We quadrupled the number planted this year to accomodate :) We are also waist deep in tomatoes and other plant starts and they have proven to be something our customers are looking for! Definitley a hit for next season (don’t worry, we will increase the bell pepper plants!)

The biggest change for this season is the addition of a farm stand! We are so excited to have the convenience and opportunity to have items available for pickup at your convenience, not just waiting for markets! This means fresher products, more selection, a consistent, convenient location, and it will allow us to spend more time on the farm. Don’t worry, there are already a baked goods plan in the works!

I will try not to go another year before another blog post! We can not wait to see you at markets AND on the farm!
